How does this Work

Description

This tool checks how much of the student’s essay matches the original source. It removes basic grammar words like “the,” “is,” “in,” etc., and focuses only on the important words. Then it compares both essays to find the matching words. The similarity score is calculated by dividing the number of matching important words by the total important words in the original essay. The higher the score, the more similar the two essays are.

To calculate the Similarity Score, The formula we use is:
(number of matching important words) ÷ (total number of important words in the original essay) × 100

Example:
10 important words in the original essay
6 of them are also in the student’s essay
Similarity score = (6 ÷ 10) × 100 = 60%

What the Score Means
80–100% → High Similarity (likely copied)
40–79% → Medium Similarity (some parts reused)
0–39% → Low Similarity (mostly original)
